Projects

I’ll be posting my most current projects and clues to future projects here.

UPDATE – 23 May 2022

The Majesta Landing Series is now in  print. You can now order paperbacks from Amazon: Pictures for Maddie; His Norse Star; Midnight by Day.

De Montbrai Saga – Book 2 (now named FORLORN) is nearly finished; Book 3, in planning.

Health issues continue unabated, but I manage to find writing time. It’s slow going at present.

UPDATE – 10 April 2021

Majesta Landing Series – Complete

Heart of a Rose Series – Complete

De Montbrai Saga – Book 1 Finished; Book 2 First Draft nearly finished; Book 3, in planning

Post-Colonial novel set in Maine (unnamed) – On hold while I finish the De Montbrai Saga trilogy

After three years of almost non-stop health issues, one crisis after another, I’m gradually easing back into my writing.

UPDATE – 30 June 2016

Not only have I been working on the post-Colonial novel set in Maine, I’m also working on Book 3 of the Majesta Landing series. This is Kav’s story, the third leg of the Raines brother’s stool. He’s been out of the family loop for a number of years–referred to, but not actually in either story. This story will answer all those questions and put a lovely end to the trilogy. Of course, that might not be the end of our travels through the fictional town of Majesta Landing. Larke and Aubree’s brother Grayson might ask for a story of his own.

UPDATE – 5 February 2016

His Norse Star, Book 2 of the Majesta Landing series, was released in Dec 2015. I’m currently working on a post-Colonial novel set in Maine that I wrote a long time ago with Wordstar 5 software. We moved several times and the 3 1/2″ floppy disk was misplaced (that should give a clue as to how old the story is). A couple of years ago, we accidentally found it, and my computer guru husband converted it to Word. Most of the manuscript is intact, although I can’t change the formatting for some reason. Doing all that manually. The story itself needs desperate help, too, but I love it as much now as I did then.

UPDATE – 6 October 2015

Book 2 of the Majesta Landing Series in in the hands of my editor. Cover reveal is next! It’s been quite an adventure bringing the manuscript to completion, especially when I developed pinched nerves in my upper back and was unable to type at all for several months. I was thrilled to pieces when I could finally type a complete sentence!

UPDATE, 9 January 2015

I put Book 2 of the De Montbrai Saga on hold and have been working on Book 2 of the Majesta Landing Series. You met Tec Raines in Book 1, Pictures for Maddie. Now you’ll be able to read his story. No title yet, nor a publication date. I’ll let you know as soon as I know.

UPDATE, 25 June 2014

Pictures for Maddie was released on 31 May 2014. I’ve started working on Book 2 in the De Montbrai Saga, which is untitled at present. It’s the story of Anne de Montbrai and Aerck de Laci who are married and yet go to great lengths to avoid each other. King Henry I is amassing a huge army to take on the Welsh and an enemy from the past threatens Anne and Aerck’s future.

UPDATE, 30 January 2014

Editing has been completed on the Heart of a Rose series and Book 1 of the De Montbrai Saga, ~ Forsaken ~. All four have been uploaded to Smashwords and Amazon. Smashwords will distribute it to other online retailers in the coming days. Swing by and grab a copy if you haven’t read it yet!

Current Project

It seems I keep backing up. After spending three-fourths of 2013 working with an editor ( who is wonderful to work with), I’m pleased to have uploaded my first four books. Now it’s time to get back to work. ~Pictures for Maddie~ is up next. It’s been edited, but I want to review it again before I turn it loose.

Book 2 of the De Montbrai saga is temporarily on hold, although I’ve started preliminary work. Still no title.

UPDATE, 19 September 2013

~ Pictures for Maddie ~was put on hold as I found myself reviewing A Rose Beneath the Snow and A Rose in Summer. Both were placed with a professional editor and will be re-released with new covers very soon. Forsaken is in the hands of the editor and an updated manuscript will be released in October. Pictures for Maddie has been completed and will go to the editor in October. A cover will be designed very soon.

My new book is underway, a contemporary entitled Pictures for Maddie.  Set in the picturesque, Tennessee River town of Majesta Landing, Kodiak Raines, former police officer and current mayor, has a problem.  The river is flooding, endangering the town’s existence.  In the middle of the natural disaster, problem #2 walks in–Larke Scott, the woman he once loved.

Five years earlier, Larke Scott broke their engagement and disappeared.  Now working as a photographer, she accepts a job that sends her to Majesta Landing for the purpose of documenting the flood.   But Larke has more personal reasons for returning to Majesta Landing and the man she abandoned.  A secret–a secret that could ruin the mayor’s life and put her own life in jeopardy.  Who will get them first–an unknown, but desperate enemy or the flood just off in the distance?

FORSAKEN UPDATE, 1 March 2013

Forsaken has been published as an ebook at Smashwords.  Other online retailers will carry it as they update their databases.

My medieval novel ~ Forsaken ~ now has a cover!

I survived the first edit and began the rewrites, which are half finished.  While I’m disappointed that I didn’t meet the January 31 deadline, the rewrites are going well.  And now that I have the cover, I’m more determined than ever to finish the rewrites.  And now for a teaser:

Forsaken…

All who knew Dane de Falaise believe he died trying to save his family.  Yet he lives, haunting the countryside in a relentless search for the one who slaughtered those he loved.  He transforms into the Black Falcon, a man without a home, a name, a face, or fealty to any man.

Vengeance…

Seeking revenge, the Black Falcon refuses to give up his quest until he discovers the identity of the man who set into motion a series of events that changed his life forever.  Will his audacious plan finally bring justice for his family, or will his need for retribution lead him to destruction?

Forgotten…

On the eve of her sister’s wedding, Morynha de Montbrai, the daughter of a landed baron in the wilds of northern England, is kidnapped by a menacing, black garbed knight who doesn’t realize he has taken the wrong sister.  She becomes the pawn in a sinister game that could destroy her world—and could cost her her very life.

Danger…

As she and her captor are drawn together, Morynha must convince the Black Falcon that some things are more important than revenge, while he must prove himself worthy of her trust.  Will they find a fierce, burning love born from the seeds of their hatred—or will they discover that, when the good in man is overtaken by evil, they are left with nothing?

Look for Forsaken in February, 2013

Current Project – UPDATE, September 2012

My medieval story is still untitled, although I have a list of about 10 possibilities.  The first draft was completed on 7 September, just one week longer than my original date of 31 August.  Now begins editing and rewriting.  So far I’ve added 56,000 words.  It would be great to have it completed in time for Christmas (for anyone who enjoys reading medieval stories or knows someone who does!).

Current Project – June 2012

Now that A Rose Beneath the Snow and it’s finale, A Rose in Summer have been published, I can get back to a story I started twelve years ago and never finished, leaving it at about 49,000 words.  It’s a medieval that takes place during the reign of King Henry I and since the second week of May, I’ve added almost 24,000 words.  It remains without a title, but one will come to me eventually, and when it does, you’ll be the first to know.  It’s possible that there may be three books in this!  More about that later…

Future Projects

Contemporary Novels – I have two that are works in progress.  The first is a completed first draft, the other just a few chapters.  More on them as I get closer to picking them back up.

Historical Novels – Last, but not least, is the post-Colonial book recovered from an 18 yr. old 3 1/2″ floppy disc.  The title is Of Whiskey and Violets.  It needs a lot of work.  I was not in a happy place when I wrote it…
